Double Delight as two co-ops are awarded Fair Tax Mark
We’re very happy to announce that Co-operatives UK and The Radstock Co-operative are the latest businesses to be awarded the Fair Tax Mark, the only independent accreditation for responsible taxpayers.
Both co-operatives have undertaken significant work to devise and publish a tax policy, and improve their tax transparency and disclosure – underlining their commitments to contribute to the communities where they operate.
Don Morris, Chief Executive of The Radstock Co-operative said: “We believe that the Fair Tax Mark provides evidence to our customers and members that we take our corporate social responsibility very seriously which is a key theme of the Society’s values and principles.” 
Ed Mayo, secretary general of Co-operatives UK, the network for Britain’s co-operative businesses, said: “Co-operatives are businesses with a difference – they are owned and controlled by their members, whether customers, employees or suppliers. Their purpose is not simply to make a profit but to provide a service to members and distribute surpluses fairly. It’s no surprise that co-ops have pioneered the Fair Tax Mark, it’s a natural fit with our very purpose.”
The Radstock Co-operative and Co-operatives UK join other co-operatives such as East of England, The Phone Co-op and Midcounties Co-operative, who have helped the sector become a real champion of the Fair Tax movement.
