Epwin Group Plc gains Fair Tax Mark
FTSE AIM-listed Epwin Group Plc has been accredited with the Fair Tax Mark, joining the growing group of businesses who say what they pay with pride.
Epwin Group Plc is the leading manufacturer of low maintenance building products, supplying the RMI (repair, maintenance and improvement), new build and social housing sectors.
“We’re delighted that Epwin Group has secured the Fair Tax Mark. The Group has made significant corporation tax payments year after year, as well as publicly committing themselves to responsible tax conduct by applying tax rules in good faith and in the spirit that they were intended. All this is to be applauded – and it’s great to have another building products manufacturer join the growing number of Fair Tax Mark accredited businesses.” – said Jaime Boswell, our Head of Accreditations.
We talked to Chris Empson, Group Finance Director from Epwin Group about their accreditation.
Why did you decide to get accredited with the Mark?
“As a responsible business that is committed to transparency and contributing to society, we always seek to pay the right amount of corporation tax. We do not undertake aggressive tax planning and our reputation as a fair contributor is important to the Group. Gaining recognition from the Fair Tax Mark was therefore a natural next step in this process and we are delighted to have been awarded the accreditation.”
How did you find the process?
“Working alongside the Fair Tax team made the process very straightforward.”
In what ways do you anticipate it will help your business going forward?
“We’re proud to have achieved the Fair Tax Mark accreditation. It will help us to further demonstrate our commitment to acting responsibly, with integrity and transparency, and paying our fair share of tax.”
The Fair Tax Foundation was launched in 2014 and operates as a not-for-profit social enterprise. Via our Fair Tax Mark accreditation scheme, we seek to encourage and recognise businesses that pay the right amount of corporate income tax at the right time and in the right place. We believe that businesses that pay their taxes willingly, fairly and transparently should be celebrated and rewarded. This includes those who operate legitimate tax planning that embraces both the spirit and letter of the law.
Businesses carrying the Fair Tax Mark include national brands such as Timpson, Lush, and Richer Sounds, FTSE listed companies including SSE and Marshalls Plc., as well as co-operatives, family businesses and social enterprises.
