Amadeus has gained the Fair Tax Mark, becoming the first large multinational technology company to secure certification internationally. It joins a growing community of businesses across Europe that are proudly accredited to the international gold standard of responsible tax conduct. Amadeus is the world’s leading provider of travel technology, with shares listed on the stock exchanges of Madrid, Barcelona, Bilbao and Valencia.

Amadeus’ sustainability strategy aims to effectively integrate sustainability across its business areas and corporate functions, whilst its tax policy also seeks to promote and contribute to the achievement of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The Fair Tax Mark is the world’s first accreditation for responsible tax conduct, and is now widely regarded as being the gold standard for business worldwide. The Fair Tax Mark label certifies that a business:

– seeks to follow the spirit, as well as the letter of the law

– shuns corporate tax avoidance such as the artificial use of tax havens

– is transparent about profits made and taxes paid.

Jacinto Esclapés Díaz, VP & Deputy General Counsel, Secretary of the Board of Directors, Amadeus, says:

“Responsible tax conduct is more than compliance, it is a reflection of our values. At Amadeus, we believe transparency and strong governance are essential to build trust with our stakeholders and to contribute meaningfully to the communities where we operate. Securing the Fair Tax Mark certification reinforces our commitment to ethical business practices and our broader sustainability ambition.”

Greg Yates, Senior Ratings Manager at The Fair Tax Foundation, states:

“Amadeus’ achievement demonstrates that responsible tax conduct and transparency are fast becoming central pillars for leading businesses across Europe. Securing the Fair Tax Mark not only signals strong governance to stakeholders but also sets a new standard for the tech sector. We commend Amadeus for excelling in a number of areas, with its tax contribution, tax policy and tax governance standing out in particular. Amadeus joins the growing group of Spanish businesses committed to paying the right amount of tax in the right place, at the right time, and for prioritizing openness and ethical practice in their corporate culture.”
