Ethical Property secures Fair Tax Mark and reinforces commitment to responsible tax conduct

Ethical Property has today secured its first Fair Tax Mark certification, and joins the growing movement of responsible businesses who are proud to ‘say what they pay with pride’. Ethical Property create places for people with purpose, with 21 centres across England, Scotland and Wales housing 276 organisations that include charities, social enterprises, small businesses and not-for-profits. The Fair Tax Mark is an independent certification, which recognises organisations that demonstrate they are paying the right amount of corporation tax in the right place, at the right time. Chelmsford Star Co-operative bolsters ethical credentials during Fair Tax Week

Chelmsford Star Co-operative has today (8th June) secured its first Fair Tax Mark certification, joining the growing movement of responsible businesses who are proud to ‘say what they pay with pride’ during Fair Tax Week. The Fair Tax Foundation is delighted to launch Fair Tax Week 2021. The Week, which runs from 5th-13th June and incorporates Tax Justice Sunday on 6th June, is a UK-wide recognition of the companies and organisations that are proud to promote responsible tax conduct. We are excited to share some important news regarding the evolution of our organisation. We are delighted to announce that our organisational name has changed, as follows: from “Fair Tax Mark” to “Fair Tax Foundation” One of the key reasons for this change is to allow a distinction between our organisation name and the Fair Tax Mark, the accreditation standard we provide to businesses. Previously, we had the Fair Tax Mark awarding the Fair Tax Mark accreditation, which was inelegant and confusing to some third parties – in particular, the  press and media. The Fair Tax Mark is pleased to announce that Fair Tax Week 2021 will run from 5th – 13th June, incorporating Tax Justice Sunday on 6th June. The week is a UK-wide recognition of the companies and organisations that are proud to promote responsible tax conduct and pay their fair share of corporation tax. As the UK emerges from economic lockdown and looks to rebuild public finances post-covid, the UK’s corporation tax regime will be subjected to once in a generation levels of change. Harriet Lamb CBE joins Fair Tax Mark board

We are delighted to announce that Harriet Lamb CBE has joined the Fair Tax Mark’s board of directors.  Currently CEO of Ashden, the climate solutions charity, Harriet previously headed up Fairtrade in both the UK and internationally, and authored Fighting the Banana Wars. The first woman to be made an Honorary Fellow of Trinity Hall, she was appointed a CBE in 2006 and was named Orange Businesswoman of the Year in 2008. Harriet’s vast experience and knowledge in building and bolstering fairness and social justice internationally will now help guide the Fair Tax Mark as businesses worldwide seek the accreditation to demonstrate their commitment to responsible tax conduct and transparency.
